Ukraine and Russia agreed to continue Antonov-70 program together

     On August 18, 2009, at MAKS-2009 air show, the Protocol on alterations in the “Agreement on further cooperation in design, joint serial production and delivery into operation of AN-70 operative-tactical military transport and AN-70T transport with D-27 engines between Government of Russian Federation and Government of Ukraine” of June 24, 1993, was signed.

     From Russian Party the document was signed by Anatolii Serdyukov, Minister of Defense of RF, from Ukraine – Valerii Ivaschenko, Acting as Minister of Defense of Ukraine. According to it, Russia and Ukraine will continue joint work on creation and tests of AN-70 STOL military transport and its modifications including civil version with engines D-27. The production cooperation within the program will be based on collaboration between Russian United Aircraft Building Corporation JSC and Ukrainian State Aircraft building Concern ANTONOV, designers and manufacturers of vendor items, materials and semi-finished products.

     The parties will finance the joint works on development of AN-70 and its modifications from the national budget of Ukraine and federal budget of Russian Federation.
