Land transit Systems

     One of the branch in ANTONOV ASTC’ activity is development of the land transit systems with application of aeronautical technologies. The first items designed by ANTONOV ASTC’ specialists became trolleybuses and low-floor tramway. At present the bus, forward-looking carriages for RADAN high-speed railway and metro are being designed at ANTONOV ASTC. Application of the corrosion-resistant aluminium alloys and polymer materials in fabrication of the bodies is the main feature of the mentioned transport systems that makes it possible to significantly reduce the bodies’ weight and provide their high corrosion resistance. Such advantages allow prolonging the transport systems’ service life and reducing costs necessary for their life circle support.

     Developed at ANTONOV ASTC vehicles of the triaxial articulated and biaxial trolleybuses family have the common body but they are equipped with different vendor items. In comparison with analogues ANTONOV designed vehicles have a number of advantages such as weight reduction and up to 20 years extension of their Time before body overhaul. ANTONOV trolleybuses have successfully passed the State tests and acquired a right to carry passengers. The trolleybuses perform transportation along the streets in Kyiv and Chercassy confirming their high design performance. The trolleybuses are serially produced at AVIANT Kyiv Aviation Plant. Up to now more than 60 such vehicles have been built.

     In full measure all the above mentioned features and advantages pertain to the first in the East Europe ЛТ-10А low-floor tram-car developed by ANTONOV ASTC in cooperation with PA Lyganskteplovoz. It is intended to transport up to 200 passengers including persons who because of limited physical abilities are unable to use existing public transports or make it with certain difficulty. At present a prototype of the tram-car is being tested. Besides, the specialists of ANTONOV ASTC developed a project of RADAN light-weight automated railway metro system that is regarded not only as an alternative to the conventional underground but also to high-speed tram.

     Racing bicycles with the frames developed at ANTONOV ASTC are of a great popularity among racing cyclists all over the world. The bicycles are intended for participation in track and highway, command and individual, pace and sprinter races. For seven years the bicycle team of Ukraine has been participating in the international competitions using the bicycles developed at ANTONOV ASTC. For this period the team of Ukraine has won the World Champion title (1998), silver and bronze medals at Olympic Games in Sydney (2000), gold medals at the World Championship at Antwerp (Belgium, 2001) and at the second stage of the World Championship at Capetown (South Africa, 2003).
